Evolution as Religion

In Christianity we believe that God created the Earth. We have no scientific proof of that fact and we never will. We take it by faith, believing this to be true even though we can’t prove it or have seen it happen. The idea that God created is outside of the realm of natural laws and would fall into the category of supernatural or miraculous. Because of this belief, Christianity is called a faith based religion.

In evolution people believe that life just happened. They cannot tell you where all the matter in the universe came from. They will trace it back to a big bang, but cannot give any scientific explanation for the origin of matter. They believe that some day science will discover this, although right now they have no proof, they take it by faith that science will discover this. The idea that life can somehow come from non-life (the primordial soup) is out of the realm of natural laws and would fall into the category of supernatural or miraculous. Because of these beliefs, evolution must then be a faith based religion.

To map this out logically would look like this:

Christianity:
   Faith - God created
+ Supernatural/miraculous - God                 created out of nothing
Religion

Evolution:
Faith – Science will someday         discover the origin of matter
+ Supernatural/miraculous – Life                  comes from non-life
Religion

So why do we teach evolution in school but not Christianity???

More fun with evolution!
