Giving Your Testimony

One of the most important ways of communicating the Truth about Jesus Christ is to share what He has done in our lives. Being able to show how Jesus has impacted our lives more than just a religion is vital to our witness. To help you out with your testimony we want to give you some ideas that will make yours truly effective.
1. Contrast what your life was before you met Jesus and what it is now, or if you grew up in a Christian home then contrast what your life is now to what your friends' lives are that don’t know Jesus.
2. Back up your experience by quoting a passage of Scripture - the Word of God is powerful and what separates our faith from every other religion. Without using Scripture all you have is a subjective experience that can easily be shot down.
3. Know where you are going - Know how you will end your testimony, what is the main point you want to get across and what is your last sentence. Finish strong, either by asking them a question or getting them wanting to know more.
4. Practice - Get alone somewhere and practice giving your testimony out loud. It will help you speak clearly and comfortably. If you have a Christian friend who is also doing this you can practice on each other.
